What is the Internet and the History of the Internet?
The Internet is a worldwide network (www) of computers and other digital devices. The term 'Internet' makes with two words 'INTER' and 'NET'. The word Inter means Interconnected, Net means Network, and the whole word 'INTERNET' means Interconnected networks. In short, the real meaning of the internet is a worldwide computer network that transfers data from one computer network to worldwide computers. The connection of these computers worldwide was established by optical fiber which spread all over the world and establish a network to transfer the data.
HISTORY OF THE INTERNET
Firstly the network of computers was established by the USA defiance research team ARPANET (Advanced research project agency network ) to share the confidential data between the war and interchanging data. This ARPANET network is popular in the USA and this technique is used in all the Universities and cities hospitals and companies in the USA. After that in the early '20s, approx. In 1989, scientists Tim Berners - Lee develop a world wide web (www), and the first hypertext document the project.html, viewed by the first browser. How does the Internet work?
As we read the above text what is the internet the question arises how its work? so when we see the video online about how this data traveled from google or other search engine data center to our laptops and our Pc. How this data traveled. A simple way of data traveled is by satellite, the first a user requested a video or desirable content on their own laptop or pc and mobile phone, and then the server of the website requested the data center to access the data will travel in the bit format by the satellite way. But the data traveled by the satellite is not the best choice, because the satellite has distance from the equator of the earth is 22000 miles, so the conclusion is that the data will travel 44000 miles. This is not possible in some seconds. This way of data traveled by the satellite is time-consuming.
So we choose the data will be traveled by the underground wire which is an optical fiber cable. this cable travels the data at a light speed and it is not time-consuming. The Optical fiber cable is spread all over the world by sea route. This Optical fiber cable reached the country's seaport after that the telecom company buys the right to travel data by the optical fiber cable and the telecom companies in the countries established towers and switching centers and lay down the optical fiber cable all over the country.
These Optical fiber cables are connected to the towers for mobile and other wireless system, and this optical fiber also reached the home in the form of Wi-Fi. In the Wi-Fi system, the optical fiber cable connects to the router, and another cable known as ethernet cable is connected to the routers and our Pc or Laptop, and our smart Tv.
How does Mobile Tower work?
This wireless system is not really wireless, because only the phone and tower do not connect, the phone and tower connect to a radio frequency. but all the towers are connected with an optical fiber cable to the nearest switching centers. At the top of the mobile towers, two antennas are located firstly a GSM antenna and secondly is Microwave antenna. These antennas are connected to the optical fiber cable with underground wire. these optical fiber cables connect with the nearest switching centers. The GSM antenna is vertically rectangular shaped, it mainly works to send and receive a call. When you have dialed any number in your mobile phone number it's going to the signal to the GSM antenna, and the GSM antenna forwards this request to the mobile switching center, and the mobile switching center transfers the call to the nearest tower of the receiver. During phone dialing, all process works. But the next question arises in all the calls received and send by the GSM antenna, What Microwave antenna works? This question answers Microwave antenna transfer data from tower to tower. When a person goes to another tower area, how GSM antenna is found, so this problem is solved by a Microwave antenna.
What is 1G, 2G, 3G,4G & 5G?
Generally, 1G stands for the first generation. This generation's era started with cell phone technology in the 1980s. In 1G, the wireless network supports only voice calls.1G is analog technology, and the phones using it have poor quality voice calls, little security, and were prone to dropped calls.
2G stands for the second generation. This generation starts with the next generation of 1G. It starts in 1991. In the second generation, Mobile has added a new feature end to end encrypted SMS(short messaging service) and MMS (multimedia services) with better voice calls comparable to the 1G. With GPRS(2.5G) (general packet radio service), 2G offers a maximum text transfer speed is 5kb/s and this speed increase with the next generation of 2.75G at 48kb/s.
3G stands for the Third generation. This generation starts in 2000, and this is the updated version of 2G,2.5G, and 2.75 G. 3G offers better data transfer, voice quality, and messaging service. In this generation, the information transfer speed is increased by about 14kb/s. Social media was also introduced in this era, But video and MMs transfer data now very slowly. the video and MMS were buffered and did not transfer smoothly.
4G stands for the Fourth generation in wireless technology, its launch in approx 2010. This generation is suspended by 3G. This generation offers better voice quality, access internet with mobile web access, gaming, high definition video call, and video data transfer over the world wide web.
5G stands for the fifth generation of wireless network, it launched over the world in 2020 but in India, it launches in 2022 with better data transfer with a maximum speed of 20gbps. In this generation, you can connect more devices with our phones such as tv, vehicle, door, etc.
